UI/UX

Listed below, are samples from works/projects I’ve completed myself as prototypes or live products.

Example #1

Detroit Experience Studio

Grounding the project. Detroit Experience Studio (DES) is the space for Black and Brown youth in Detroit to maximize their creative potential and transform the advertising industry. VML, an advertising agency, operates DES. WPP, the parent agency of VML invested $30 million over three years to fund inclusion programs within WPP like DES.

Discovery and Research. The central question formed was “How might we support the foundational priorities of DES by cultivating creative discovery, for Detroit's Black and Brown youth and providing equitable access to the program?”

Empathy Map Summary. DES built three personas. From there, we captured what steps we should take to build a program that would be realistically useful for Detroit youth.

Design Thinking Model

Detroit youth need... A learning space built to fast-track them into the career they’re most interested in that aligns with advertising and media
Because... Trade schools don’t always offer programs in creative fields specializing in advertising
So we will... Build a program dedicated to offering the skills they need to enter the advertising world while providing a stipend and meals to create a cost-efficient alternative to after-school programs and work-study

Each learning has allowed us to expand our offerings and scale further than the city of Detroit. This program will hopefully be launched in other populated cities of Black and Brown descent. For more information on the program, please visit the site I created with other creatives on the team.

Example #2

Overview

My focus of redesigning this app is to Enhance the existing interface with a customizable map to each user’s location and parking history. Note: This is a personal side project and is not affiliated with Park Detroit or any of the official Detroit applications or websites.

My Role: From idea conceptualization to fruition, I managed this project single-handedly.

Method and Tools: User and Market Research, Wireframing, Low-fidelity and High-fidelity Prototyping, Sketch, and Adobe XD.

The Problem

The current app does not allow for users to see what zone they are in, not on a map or through GPS location tracking. The app also does not allow for users to search for free street parking, like most major city parking apps allow.

Proposed Solution

To design an interface similar to the current app, while enhancing user experience by incorporating a live map and location tracker, zone blockades, and free parking highlighted areas.

Example #3
